This room is the first encounter many families have with the Western Academy of Beijing. The brief was to capture the spirit of the entire campus within a single space — welcoming adults while giving young children a place to play, explore, and feel at ease.
Half of the room is designed for conversation and connection; the other half becomes a miniature world for children, with spaces for both quiet retreat and active movement. The colour palette draws from the elementary school library we previously designed, creating a warm and familiar continuity across the campus.
The result is a small room full of beauty and possibility —a gentle introduction to the school’s culture, and a space where families can begin imagining their future here.
