Project Sandpaper & Silk
Perched on the 16th floor of an apartment complex located in the South of Bangalore, the penthouse titled Sandpaper & Silk is a home to a family of four tracing their roots to the lands of the Deccan.
The couple had the quintessential image of a rooted home etched in their minds; a symphony of woods, plush marbles and traditional details.
The design style of the home was initially christened Transitional which later shaped into Classical and eventually Modern-Indian. It is a mishmash of numerous influences that primarily draws inspiration from the refined weaves, motifs, textures, hues and patterns from fabric as the family hails from the textile industry.
Creating this home for oodles of personalities and carrying its story over the finish line has been an exercise in honouring the traditional brief with a little bit of MOS in it.
