Samran Handcraft Bread & Coffee, a cafe serving homemade bread and fresh coffee, is located in a residential area in the city center.
Its design concept focuses on creating a simple, pleasantly warm, and friendly atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the surrounding naturally.
This friendliness is reflected both inside and outside. Customers inside the shop can see the surrounding atmosphere,
while passersby can also experience the atmosphere inside.
The second floor area is designed as an open mezzanine, connecting to the first floor to create a seamless flow of different activities.
The passion of feeding carp fish of the project owner has been interpreted as the key element of the shop.
Thus, an L-shaped fish pond is designed adjacent to the first-floor seating area, separated by a glass wall, creating a dimension of awareness that connects both the internal and external.
In term of architecture, the building has been designed having a gable roof to reflect the warmth of a community home.
Its structural system is designed with wide column spans to minimize disruption to the interior space. Steel beams support the second floor, and a truss structure supports the roof, creating openness and flexibility.
It is ready for future renovation and application, some of the trusses are covered with fiber cement board
to reduce rigidity and create a more refined appearance.
The materials used emphasize on naturalness and are locally sourced materials such as polished cement, terracotta tiles, and old wood are used.
The design also conveys the sense of simplicity and accessibility.
The interior design incorporates freestanding furniture that can be adapted to suit individual activity.
Wall murals and bookshelves create a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a second home.
Samran Handcraft Bread & Coffee is not only a simply café but also a reinterpretation of "home" in a new context.
It welcomes both local residents and visitors from different areas with warmth, airiness, and friendliness.
At the same time, it provides opportunities for growth and development, fostering new activities in the future based on experiences and feelings of the users as the heart of the design.
