The 127-metre tall high-rise tower of the RWE headquarters is one of the world’s first eco high-rise buildings. Its double-skin glass façade provides natural ventilation for the office spaces.
The high-rise is a free-standing building set behind a perimeter block in downtown Essen, Germany. The tower’s small, circular footprint allows space for the large park that surrounds it.
The offices are naturally lit and ventilated through a fully-glazed double skin façade. All functions of the ventilation system, daylight control, sunscreens and blinds are integrated into a custom-detailed façade elements; the so-called "fish-mouth". Environmental conditions can be adjusted according to individual requirements by means of a control panel in each room.
