Nature returns - old office restructured
In the center of Paris near the church La Madeleine, the old stock of an office building was restructured by Baumschlager Eberle Architects (Paris office). An old stock with quality must be mentioned in addition. The planning of Paul La Mache (1918-1999) in Rue Ville l'Evêque left a legacy that was open to the new ideas and messages of a contemporary change. With the simple means of architecture and the ideas of the designers, new messages, new spatial experiences, and new material qualities were introduced.
1. nature has returned to the city. A 3D greening of the inner courtyard and roof terrace is also possible in small existing buildings.
2. a new routing and adequate room heights increase the comfort of stay
3. the sustainable material wood for the plant framework and the terrace is compatible with the city
All in all, this building project shows that climate optimization and increased comfort can be brought into harmony - to the benefit of the people working there and as a mosaic piece of an urban vision of the FUTURE.
