The design concept centered around maximizing the incredible views of the golf course and surroundings. The 102 independent living apartments are divided into 5 blocks, positioned strategically on the site to optimize orientations, accessibility, and views.
The ground floor walls have a durable, darker finish, while the upper floors are painted a lighter color and have vertical fins that hide services and break up the large facades into smaller components. Private gardens for ground floor units and balconies with planters for each apartment allow residents access to private green spaces, promoting self-expression through gardening and creating a dynamic, changing facade that evolves with the seasons.
The communal building is designed as an extension of the apartment living rooms, having interconnected lounges, a restaurant, a library, a coffee shop, and a cinema, providing a variety of amenities for residents to engage in various activities. The design of the communal building focuses on creating a varied spatial experience with curved ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glazing for abundant natural light and breath-taking views, and using natural finishes and textures to create warm and comfortable spaces.
Design principles specific to senior living communities are integrated into the project to ensure optimal accessibility, particularly for those with impaired mobility. This is achieved through wide doorways and openings, automated doors for main entrances, and lifts and ramps with appropriate slopes. Light colors, natural textures, and ergonomic considerations such as rounded corners, lower vanities, kitchen tops, and sliding doors in built-in cupboards for ease of use all create a safe and comfortable environment for senior residents.
