Residencia Bandeiras started as an empty plot of land. The Architect Tito Ficarelli, wanted to create a home for himself in a short amount of time and at reduced costs. The project became a great success. The house is located in a very small street in the trendy neighbourhood of Vila Madalena. From the cosy street, a bright red gate welcomes you. The design consists of an 8-meter open burgundy box divided in two floors by an exposed concrete slab. The two openings become two terraces facing the garden, which is 40% of the plot. The roof becomes a solarium, abundance of outdoor space in a claustrophobic city like Sao Paulo. The absence of division walls widens the space and allows for change in program. The house is currently being further developed, with a second box being dug in the ground, which will become the Architect’s recording studio.
