A new residential building with an articulated rectangular shape, with five floors (basement, ground floor and three floors) has been built right next to the city entrance. The basic dimensions of the building are rectangular, consisting of three rectangles that are sensibly indent from each other according to the shape of the plot, placed parallel to Zaloška street. The building has a flat green roof. The facility offers a variety of residential units of different sizes and with different connections to the outside environment.
In the basement there are storage rooms and technical rooms, while on the ground floor there are nine residential units and three business premises along Zaloška cesta. On the first, second and third floor, there are thirteen residential units each with an outdoor terrace – a total of 48 residential units and 3 commercial premises. The five residential units on the ground floor are two-story “duplexes” with a living area on the ground floor and a bedroom in the basement. All ground floor units also have private atriums. All units on the upper floors, which are oriented towards the southeast, have external balconies, while the units, oriented towards Zaloška cesta, do not have balconies. The apartments on the third floor on the north side of the building along Zaloška cesta are additionally lit by skylight domes in the living areas and the kitchen.
The basic structure is a reinforced concrete structure with many glass surfaces, which, in addition to contact with nature and a lot of natural lighting, also give the feeling of a more modern and high-quality living.
The Zalog residence provides an excellent connection to the city center of Ljubljana, it is built near all important public infrastructure, including a bus stop, shops, restaurants, a kindergarten, a school, etc.). The location offers an excellent starting point for excursions and walks in nature.
