The residence in Agalarov Estate is a unique project by the team at Studia 54, representing the fusion of modern architectural design with the natural landscape of the Moscow region. Located in the prestigious Agalarov Estate, this home occupies a 15-hectare plot with its own expansive forest. The goal was to meet the owner’s need for comfortable and luxurious living while preserving and highlighting the natural beauty of the surrounding area. A team of 53 people worked on the implementation of this project.
Concept
To ensure that the house seamlessly integrates with the natural landscape and feels like a natural extension of the surroundings, the architects adopted a strategy that takes advantage of the site's terrain: the house is situated on a 1.5-meter elevation change.
On one side, the main entrance is positioned at a higher level, while on the other, stunning views of the forest and the nearby river unfold right next to the house.
A significant advantage of this project was the freedom from plot size constraints, allowing for the design of a spacious single-story home covering 1,500 square meters. This not only ensured ample comfort and space for the residents but also paved the way for a unique architectural concept tailored precisely to the owner’s needs.
Architectural design
The house is organized into three main sections: a central living area and two wings — the eastern and western wings. This design not only provides a logical flow of space but also fosters a sense of privacy and comfort for each family member.
Entrance area and garage
The main entrance to the house is located on the western side of the property. A notable architectural feature is a sculptural composition with a fountain by Costa Rican artist Jorge Jiménez Deredia, installed near the entrance.
The property includes a covered carport and a separate garage. If parking under the carport, a covered walkway provides convenient and weather-protected access to the entrance.
Central living block
The central block serves as the primary area for socializing and spending time together. It includes:
— Living room
— Dining room and kitchen
— Bar
— Home theater
— Office
Eastern wing
The eastern wing is dedicated to private living spaces and relaxation areas, featuring:
— Children's rooms with play areas
— Guest rooms
— Master suite
— Winter garden
Western wing
The western wing is focused on active recreation and wellness, including:
— Gym
— Spa area
— Utility rooms
Central living block
The central part of the house features a spacious living room, which serves as the heart of the residence. Panoramic windows on both sides of the living room create the feeling of being immersed in the forest, while views of the river and hillside enhance the sensation of elevation. The living room is seamlessly connected to the kitchen, dining area, and bar, forming a unified space for relaxation and socializing.
A key highlight is the double-sided fireplace that separates the living room from the dining area. The living room also houses a grand piano, making it an ideal venue for home concerts and musical evenings. The large sofa arrangement offers comfortable seating for a big group.
Eastern wing
The eastern wing of the house contains several functional areas. It includes children's rooms facing east, two spacious bedrooms with private terraces, a large playroom, and a master suite with southern views. At the center of the eastern wing is a 65-square-meter winter garden, which becomes the focal point of this space. The surrounding living areas are enveloped in the greenery and tranquility created by the winter garden.
Each living area has direct access to the forest, fostering a sense of seclusion and harmony with nature. The bathrooms are equipped with corner windows, allowing ample natural light to flow in, further enhancing the connection with the natural surroundings.
Western wing
The western wing of the house is dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle and relaxation. It features a spacious 120-square-meter gym and a spa area with a terrace, both offering views of the forest. This setting creates a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. A special pathway leads from the spa to a riverside sauna, providing an ideal spot for rejuvenation after a workout.
The residence in Agalarov Estate is more than just a home; it's a prime example of harmony between nature and modern architectural art. The project by Studia 54 embodies the concept of creating a living space that not only meets the highest standards of comfort and luxury but also preserves the natural environment. This house is a true masterpiece, demonstrating how architecture can extend into nature, creating a unique space for living and relaxation.
