L'Atelier

Résidence André de Gouveia

Boulevard Jourdan, Paris, France

For recreating the self identity of the Portugal Residence at the International Universitary Campus of Paris
and for a best recognizing of it in the city, we have developed an accentuated work in facades:
The existent housing body building is entirely renovated with a grey appearance which remind us the war
battleships.
This coloration emphasizes the monolithic effect and lets decrease the different frameworks put it on in
the days of old. In the same way this grey coloured façade permits to balance the pollution due to the
boulevard next to the residence.
The ground floor facade which corresponds to the theatre and the showroom is covered with a thermal
isolation added-on, and an envelope creating gold dyed perforated aluminium boards in the same way of the
“calzada” floor.
This “moucharabieh” second skin gives a new identity to the building, a gold black and red baroque touch, a
Portuguese perfume in Paris.
