The main purpose of the redevelopment is to join the existing utilisation units of the indoor and outdoor pools into a “combination pool”. In order to achieve this, the existing building will be stripped down to the bathing platform, with the exception of the slide facility, while the entrance hall, including the basement, is to be demolished to make way for a compact building shape. A new steel construction will replace the existing MERO roof structure. In order to improve the quality of the space, all the interior fittings will be renovated as part of the redevelopment. A new warm pool and a new children’s area will provide an additional attraction. New changing rooms and an outdoor children’s pool are to be added to the outdoor pool. The existing pools will be replaced or partially renovated – only the non-swimmers’ pool is to be omitted.
