As the largest cultural centre in Europe, Auer Weber's design for the new Gasteig will maximise its full potential for the future by increasing its public profile and improving the connections to its urban surroundings. By enhancing its appeal and simplifying the circulation within the site and the building itself, the new Gasteig will embrace its visitors with more clarity and transparency. The embodiment of this are the grand, amphitheatre-esque steps at the crossing of Rosenheimer Straße and Am Gasteig, over which the future landmark of the copper-toned philharmonic concert hall will rise.
Our competition entry for the renovation of Gasteig has been chosen as one of the three winners (May 2018).
