"Modern Alpine House" is a project in which the main task was to make a modern mountain house in a certain ruined area in the dimensions of the former building, the remains of which are located on that place. Strict regulations required that the new building must respect the dimensions of the old one, and this gave the initial idea that the old stone walls of the former building be used as they were, and that with proper treatment the ruined walls should be kept in their original shape and "upgrade“ the new part. The so-called Interpolation of the building where we "inserted" new walls with the former remains of the old building and created a building of new dimensions. The old walls have essentially remained as a membrane to the new building, as a testimony of past times, and they themselves form the foundation for the new building that will be created. In that way, the ground floor of the house and a good part of the middle part of the building remained in the old stone, while the other floors were created from wood. The concept of the house is a space to enjoy the mountain landscape of the Alps, a house that contains all the functional units of a modern hotel, destined especially for renting rooms to families who want to spend their vacation in this place. A special experience is given by the top floor of the building, the roof terrace with an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi whose water is always warm, so that users can enjoy the magnificent view of the surroundings while they are in the pool. There is also a glass cube whose primary function is a mini observatory for tourists. It itself fits into the whole design of the building, giving its transparent membrane modernity to the whole building, thus creating the final act of the concept of "Modern Alpine House".
