The Red Creek Road Residence is a 5000 SF weekend residence located on the Great Peconic Bay in South Hampton, New York. Situated on a 3.64 acre site, the house has stunning views of both the Great Peconic Bay and the forest behind. To maximize this idyllic location, natural cedar clad walls and curtainwall with glulam wood mullions are used to define the structure. The balcony, the board-formed concrete fireplace, and the floating open staircase, also mimic the unique experience of existing between the woods and the water.
Unique windows and balconies make direct connections to moments in the forest and the Bay and glimpses of the expansive horizon of the Great Peconic Bay is framed by a cedar-clad breezeway, inviting the visitor to emerge from the forest.
The glazed public wing of the house reaches towards the sea, sheltering the pool & terrace, while the outdoor living room connects entry, garage, kitchen, dining room, and living room, overlooked by the master bedroom terrace.
The board-formed concrete fireplace echoes the cedar-clad exterior, itself referencing the vernacular cedar-shingled homes of the area and an open stair connects the private and public wings and three levels of the house, while allowing the Bay to be experienced through it.
