Rancho Cienega Sports Complex centers around the idea of recasting the sports complex as a botanical garden with places for sport embedded within it and maximizing the new facilities by building smartly and efficiently. Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s painting “Broadway Boogie," the Sports Complex’s strength is its ability to provide uninterrupted use of the existing facilities while adding significant new assets and creating an integrated whole for the complex with the architecture and landscape being united through basic elements of scale, rhythm, color and texture.
