The Arts Space

Ralph Allen Yard

Bath, United Kingdom

YEAR
2014
A competition-winning mixed-use development in a sensitive location above Bath. The brief describes two distinct elements - a sustainable housing component (using prefabricated, super-insulated, timber-frame technology) and a mining interpretation centre (relating to the labyrinth of disused shafts and tunnels which lie beneath the site). Elements of historic on-site buildings will be also integrated into the final scheme, creating a discrete and relevant development at the heart of the local community.
