The building’s overall proportions and massing, along with the dynamic form of its floor plates, accentuate the human scale of the development. The architecture also creates an elegant sense of arrival, with the shaded entrance plaza offering clear views to the glass-enclosed reception lobby and the water wall in the garden beyond.
The hotel’s unique, multi-layered facade system shields the building from the sun and reduces energy consumption. The entire building envelope performs as a screen, with durable terracotta panels and tubes (known as “baguettes”) shading the double-glazed curtain wall and insulated backing. The exterior components were lab-tested to ensure they could withstand the region’s strong sunlight and UV levels as well as high temperatures. Additional shading is provided by structural overhangs and terraced setbacks, which further define the building’s distinctive profile. The facade system facilitates long-term maintenance and repair, as each individual component can be individually inspected, removed, and replaced if necessary.
A playground for the senses, the hotel offers state-of-the-art amenities. Visitors can dine within the comfort of the hotel at several on-site dining venues. For rest and relaxation, guests can take advantage of the health club, which boasts an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, and treatment rooms. Fully equipped meeting rooms are available for meetings, banquets, or other events.
