Qube, an extraordinary project envisioned by COOOP in Lahore, Pakistan, unfolds as an architectural marvel where interconnected cubes serve as the core conceptual foundation. Initially conceived with a complex network of cubes seamlessly interlocking, the design underwent a transformative evolution. The current construction phase reflects a simplified yet elegant version, with subsequent functionalities meticulously realigned to complement this refined vision.
Beyond the structural evolution, Qube is distinguished by its innovative play of texture and light, achieved through the implementation of Mashrabiya facades. These facades not only add a layer of visual intricacy but also create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, contributing to the building's aesthetic allure.
In the lead designer role, COOOP oversees the realization of this mixed-use project, ensuring a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics. The interior spaces of Qube are thoughtfully designed in response to the refined exterior form, creating a cohesive and immersive experience. Moreover, the integration of 'Design for Behaviour' principles underscores COOOP's commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging community within Qube's contemporary architectural landscape. This project stands as a testament to COOOP's ability to adapt and refine concepts, resulting in a unique and captivating space that harmonizes with both form and function.
