Located in Yucalpetén, Progreso, the Marina occupies a 3-hectare property, ranging from the Cangrejos roundabout to the port channels that flow into the Gulf of Mexico. This project is unique due to its commercial importance and the complex architectural program that includes a 5,500 m2 dry marina, shipping docks, boat repair workshops, docks and a boat gas station. In addition, it has a yacht club that houses boutiques, green areas, a restaurant, lobby, boat storage and administrative offices.
The design seeks harmony between the different elements of the program, developing concentrically around the water. Boats are taken off the dry marina and placed on the concrete docks, then parked at the shipping docks in front of the main park. The “T”-shaped amenities generate two important patios that, with their vegetation, hide the project between tree canopies and gravel paths. The structure and arrangement of the project are based on the study of historical commercial marinas such as the Venice arsenal shipyard, Lisbon's Commerce Square and Italian rationalist architecture.
