About the Project
A large-scale architectural concept for a three-story, 2,000 m² mansion in southern Spain — The Gilded Bastion. Inspired by Spanish castles, the residence combines a sense of security and monumentality with elegance and lightness.
The client sought a private, refined home that harmonizes with the local Mediterranean atmosphere. Studia 54’s 40-person team designed every detail to blend art, nature, and modern luxury.
Inspiration & Concept
Located near the coast and surrounded by pine forests, the project balances clean geometry with natural textures, sunlight, and shadow. Based on a U-shaped composition, the challenge was to preserve openness and lightness in a three-story form.
Facade Design
The facade merges symmetry and rhythm: brass portals, panoramic glazing, and green terraces create visual balance. Hidden engineering elements, horizontal shifts, and subtle lighting maintain the purity of form while adding depth.
Entrance Group
The main entrance is a sculptural brass portal — 4 meters high — framing a grand double-height door. The design integrates precise detailing, refined materials, and a welcoming outdoor lounge reminiscent of a Spanish siesta.
Glass Tower
An oval glass tower encases a spiral staircase, linking all three levels and filling the interior with light. This vertical accent adds dynamism and connects the structure’s sculptural and architectural rhythm.
Terrace
The terrace serves as a natural continuation of the living space — a place for relaxation and outdoor dining framed by a brass portal. A sunken fireplace lounge immerses guests in the landscape and tranquil atmosphere.
Essence
The Gilded Bastion embodies Studia 54’s philosophy: a balance of elegance, structure, and emotional warmth. Monumental yet intimate, it transforms architectural precision into an art of living.
