PLUS+ is a multi-family building with one and two-bedroom apartments, located one block from the Third External Ring Road and Isuto Canal.
We respond to a contemporary, practical, and dynamic lifestyle, providing useful and necessary areas that create an ideal balance between private and communal living. The project addresses the programmatic requirements of a residential building, seeking to meet and exceed them by innovating in line with a contemporary lifestyle.
The five-story building has a single circulation core, through which the apartments are accessed through intermediate exterior and common spaces, which visually free up and expand the access to each apartment. These spaces are understood as an extension of the private habitat, transforming the private terrace into an exterior space that visually forms part of the building's core.
The architecture is clearly interpreted, with a defined and defined modulation, in a single volume detached from the ground. A series of recesses appear in this single body, creating double heights, providing improved spatial quality to the apartment terraces. To comply with regulations and maximize height utilization, we opted for a system of heavy slabs. This gave us the option of using thin slabs. Because they are solid and accompanied by an insulating blanket that cancels out impact sound, they offer excellent performance.
Special attention has been paid to the spatial quality of the apartments, which are compact, with no wasted square meters in hallways. All rooms are naturally ventilated and lit. Balconies and terraces face the street. A generously sized interior courtyard. Floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows create a fresh, healthy, and warm atmosphere.
The transition from street to common area to private life has been an important focus of our study. Our home is compact, so beyond wide glass planes and interior balconies, we designed the path as a filter or intermediate spaces that accompany us until we enter our apartment. This effort fosters distant views, translucent planes, and fully ventilated and naturally lit spaces, in addition to the participation of vegetation throughout the journey.
