Plinth House is a new home designed to capture the peaceful beauty of its remote setting and create a calming retreat for a client with a keen passion for outdoor adventure.
Set on a sloping site on the Welsh coast, the house is surrounded by glass walls on the ground floor, flooding the interiors with natural light. Above, a ‘cradle'-like, slatted timber structure overlays the glazing, creating a sense of warmth, seclusion, and privacy for the bedrooms.
A bouldering wall covers the southern facade, and the house opens up onto a small beach below. This is via a series of patios, laid out like stepping stones, each providing a different function – including dedicated space for a plunge pool, barbeque and fire pit.
