Pine House, completed in 2024, is a summer house located on Hallandsåsen. The residence depicts multiple layers of authentic experiences, with a form drawn from the rhythm of everyday life, genuine craftsmanship and the character of the landscape.
The home is located on a north-facing slope - an unusual location for a summer house - in a sparse forest that was formerly pasture. The play of light filtered through the treetops creates moments of intense atmosphere, as the site is rarely reached by direct sunlight but instead constantly shifts in tonality and texture.
Pine House was designed in close collaboration with the clients, resulting in a unique process shaped by their sensibilities for aesthetics. Their insight extends beyond the visual impression of craftsmanship, and reaches the manufacturing process, the creator, the significance of the form and cultural context, and the emotions that are evoked. Well-versed in culture, art, architecture and many other fields, the clients became both a great inspiration and a great challenge.
The residence honors authentic and tactile experiences, with an exposed timber structure and a craft honesty that allows every handcrafted detail to be part of the experience. The natural character of the materials and the readable construction contribute to the narrative of the house, offering a richness and depth that reflects the textures and rhythm of the surrounding forest.
