The P&G Kobe IC Refresh Project transforms the existing workplace into a collaborative environment inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. The design embraces natural materials, authenticity, and simplicity to create a workplace that promotes positivity, harmony, and wellbeing. While Wabi-Sabi forms the foundation of the concept, vibrant accent colours are introduced to brighten the workplace and create an energetic yet balanced environment.
The material palette combines warm wood tones, natural textures, and carefully selected contrasting elements to add warmth and character. Existing and new elements are thoughtfully integrated to maintain continuity with the original workplace while enhancing the overall environment.
The reception area is refreshed by retaining the existing carcass while introducing new finishes and feature elements to enhance the arrival experience. The design creates a seamless connection between the Ideation & Brainstorming Space and the Cafeteria, encouraging collaboration and informal interaction. Additional phone booths and focus pods are incorporated to support focused work, while refreshed carpet and wall finishes give each floor a distinct identity, maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the office.
The overall design enhances the existing workplace, creating a flexible, engaging, and welcoming environment that supports collaboration, focus, and employee wellbeing while remaining true to P&G Workplace Standards.
