Perkins+Will New York. Guided by knowledge of workplace and sustainable strategies, the new LEED Gold space functions as both a test place and showcase of ideas about office design. When Perkins+Will New York decided to relocate, we capitalized on the opportunity to devise a working environment that functions as a living test of innovative workplace features and ideas that we promote for our clients. The newly completed 4th floor at 215 Park Avenue South houses 150 architecture, interiors, workplace planning + strategies, and support employees in a energetic spaces that embodies the clean, crisp palette and innovative philosophies of the Perkins+Will brand.Every staff member, from principal to intern, has a standard 6?x7? workstation. The bays are comprised of fixed spines and mobile furniture can be re configured in multiple ways, depending on changing team formations and personal workstyles. The open plan layout eliminates private offices to promote collaboration, allow access to daylight and views, and provide visual connection to the entire office. Team rooms along the main corridor provide space for private conversations and phone calls, small meetings, and visitor touch-down space. Many elements of the design address environmental sustainability issues. The office excels in its 45% reduction in water usage from the integration of lowflow,-self-powered, sensor faucets; waterless urinals; and dual-flush toilets. To minimize energy usage, the space is equipped with daylight and occupancy sensors, as well as redesigning heating and lighting systems.
