To meet the wish of the City of Paramatta / Great-Sydney to have a cultural and municipal building that would put the City as a reference of Smart City, we chose to design an innovative project in terms of programming and architectural design.
This new venue, linked to the existing City Hall, is an expressive project, designed to magnify and stage the programming of the project, itself very innovative: bookseller, exhibition venues, “community technology
Hub”, control center of the City, spaces dedicated to innovations, restaurants, workplaces for elected officials. There is constant interaction between citizens and elected officials, offering them a unique
setting for true dialogue and sharing of city politics.
The project is entirely sculpted by the race of the sun, to free the central square from any shadow. This constraint gave rise to an atypical volume from which we took the opportunity to create a real architectural walk, plunging on the square, which crosses the different levels of the library to the more ceremonial rooms of the council.
