Designed by Parkin Architects Limited in joint venture with Tillmann Ruth Robinson (aTRR) to respond to the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) model of care used by the hospital, the Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care Building promotes individual growth and skill development. The building is layered in a distinct configuration of “The Downtown”, “The House” and “The Neighbourhood” to represent the patients’ gradual recovery and potential movement back into the community.
