The clients are serious chefs and they needed a serious kitchen to work in. We created this light-filled space by opening up the rear structural wall. The appliances are commercial-grade (and commercial-sized) and there is a pull-out, butcher block-covered baking center under the microwave. Creating two bedrooms out of a space with 3 windows along the front facade is a common challenge in brownstone renovation. Upstairs, we made the two front bedrooms equal in size by dividing the center window of the house in two with two interior window panels that can be opened. The clients selected all of the materials.
