COOOP has brought its innovative design expertise to Lahore, revamping the city's commercial landscape with the introduction of Packages Mall, a prominent shopping center. Recognizing Lahore's historical moniker as the City of Gardens, the design concept draws inspiration from the city's lush greenery and horticulture. This influence is evident in the mall's layout, which features pockets of greenery surrounding the building. Envisioned as a harmonious integration with nature, the mall is conceived as a built form immersed within the landscape. Welcoming squares, serving as active frontages, encourage interaction among visitors, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Packages Mall boasts a comprehensive array of offerings, including over 300,000ft² of retail space, a sizable Hypermarket, a multi-screen cinema complex, a dynamic food court, and versatile exhibition and play/entertainment spaces. To enhance visitor experience, secure parking and strategically located drop-off areas within the building ensure convenient access, with landscaped links connecting to external parking areas. This flexible design approach allows seamless navigation throughout the complex.
The project, dubbed "The Garden of Lahore + retail building," showcases COOOP's commitment to harmonizing urban development with nature. Serving as the associate designer, COOOP emphasizes not only the aesthetic integration of the mall with its surroundings but also the functionality that enhances the overall visitor experience. This project falls under the category of innovative urban design, marking a significant addition to Lahore's architectural landscape. Moreover, the incorporation of "Design for Behaviour" principles underscores the intention to create spaces that not only serve their utilitarian purpose but also positively influence the behavior and interaction patterns of visitors, contributing to a lively and engaging community hub.
