Located on the 64th floor of 70 Pine Street, one floor above SAGA Restaurant, Overstory is a contemporary cocktail bar in New York City’s Financial District. Nearly 1,000 feet above the city, the space, which opened in 2021, is surrounded by a striking wraparound terrace with 360-degree views of the city’s skyline. An electrifying private elevator ride takes guests into the space named one of the World’s 50 Best Bars, a deliberate experience that sets the stage for creative cocktails and a seamless transition between sumptuous interiors and the velvety night sky.
The room’s elegant oval shape references one of the building’s original boardrooms, lost through years of renovations and styles. Design details were inspired by the glamorous interiors of 1940s international ocean travel, lending the space a luxurious, and even delicate, quality. The soft pink, peach, and copper tones of the space imbue the room with a sunset-like aura, quietly blurring the interior atmosphere with that of the dusk “magic hour” skies outside that overlook New York City’s harbor and the horizon beyond.
