The project design aimed to create rare and visionary residences which are appropriate to this exclusive, secluded Swire Group site. with sweeping views over Victoria Harbour. Working in collaboration with Pritzker Prize winner Frank Gehry on his first residential project in Asia, RLP was a core member of the design team and provided specialist knowledge of Hong Kong’s regulations and practices to help bring this inventive design to life.
The 12-storey building includes two double-level garden apartments and 10 unique apartments above – one per floor – each over 600 sq. m. in size. The design adopts unconventional residential layouts and utilizes an organic-shaped plan, providing a central core to the otherwise column-free and customizable space. The glass-clad structural columns are pushed to the exterior, forming an exoskeleton for the tower that mirrors reeds swaying in the wind.
The scheme has achieved a provisional BEAM Platinum rating for environmental performance, underlining the successful creation of a responsible and unique product for the residential market.
