Olympic Square Pavilion
Located at a central junction within the new Hellinikon Park in Athens, the Olympic Square F&B is not just a dining destination, it is envisioned as a living, breathing extension of the landscape. Our proposal for this food and beverage complex, nestled among lush greenery and water features, is designed to act as a social and spatial anchor within the expansive park, drawing visitors into an immersive experience that fuses nature, leisure, and community.
The architecture emerges organically from the ground; its structure rooted in the language of the landscape. Inspired by the surrounding topography and coastal context, the building’s low, sculptural form integrates seamlessly with its environment, offering moments of openness and shelter without disrupting the park’s continuity. It enhances the experience of being outdoors, providing a place of pause and connection.
Materiality plays a central role in reinforcing this idea of natural integration; warm natural tones, wood finishes, and generous glazing allow for transparency, visual permeability, and an ongoing dialogue between interior and exterior.
Spatially, the layout revolves around a series of solid core elements that house essential infrastructure and services. These anchor the design while allowing the surrounding areas, where seating, dining, and gathering unfold, to remain flexible and immersed in the landscape.
The Olympic Square F&B acts as an architectural gesture that complements its setting while amplifying its social and experiential potential. It aims to become a destination that feels embedded in nature and alive with urban energy, enriching the everyday life of Hellinikon’s visitors through food, culture, and community.
