B1 Group is a major consulting company. Due to the growth of the team in the Novosibirsk, the existing office has been expanded by upper floor in the same building.
Many team members are often on business trips, work remotely or in a hybrid format. Therefore, the main feature of the new space – the complete absence of assigned workstations. In just 517 m2 the bureau has to accommodate all the required functions and create a space where everyone can find a suitable place to work.
The new floor has a specific layout. There are lift halls, staircases and an escape corridor, which cannot be modified but occupy a huge area in the center. And as the floor is a mansard one, it also has the roof slope, which reduces the height of the ceilings on one side. In order to make the entire area useful, the bureau organized the space in a non-standard way. Previously inconvenient parts of the floor became cozy arched meeting rooms and printers areas.
Many areas are made flexible and transformable to accommodate numerous functions in a limited space. All the workplaces are non-fixed which increases the capacity of employees without losing efficiency. Everyone will be able to choose a preferable spot for work – an open space, a special niche in a corridor, or a table in a coffee point. If necessary, lounge areas can also be used for work or meetings.
One of the main corporate values of B1 Group is the principle of equal opportunities and diversity of experience. The company employs people of different specialities and areas of expertise. All of them are provided with various opportunities for professional training and development. These values are reflected in the design concept.
The creativity is not only in ability to pick a workplace, but also in the design of the office. The design concept is “clean” pop art. It is a white interior with bright details of complex color shades like dusty pink. To use it in the office project is bold, but the client's team was open to new things. The whole interior appeared to be modern and dynamic exactly due to this approach.
There are also a lot of original details to support employees in both work and self-expression: multicolored panels in the open space divide the space, improve acoustics and also serve as marker boards and a place for notes. Several walls can completely be used for writing and drawing. And the lounge area has custom-made “unstable” swiveling seats. Huge number of items in the office are customized and unusual for business premise. For example plush armchairs, lego-style decor or ping-pong table in one of the meeting rooms.
An optimal microclimate in the office is maintained by modern engineering systems. And lighting is thought through in details for each zone.
