Oasis Huëst was created by Nothing Studio for the 2023 edition of Marbella Design & Art as an ephemeral interior conceived around the relationship between nature, wellbeing and contemporary design.
The project explores the idea of an oasis as a place of pause and disconnection. Rather than creating a conventional exhibition space, Nothing Studio designed an immersive environment in which organic textures, natural materials, colour and light work together to generate a sense of calm and intimacy.
The spatial concept is based on a strong connection with nature. Organic forms and tactile surfaces define the architecture, while a carefully controlled palette creates a warm and enveloping atmosphere. The project combines natural references with contemporary elements, creating a dialogue between craftsmanship, materiality and technology.
One of the main characteristics of Oasis Huëst is the importance given to texture. The walls and architectural surfaces become active elements within the composition, providing depth and reinforcing the sensory character of the space. Natural clay finishes by Ecoclay contribute to this material language, introducing an earthy and imperfect quality that contrasts with more refined pieces of furniture and lighting.
The space was organised as a sequence of different experiences, combining areas for relaxation and social interaction with a wellness-inspired environment. Each element was conceived as part of a unified composition, from the architectural envelope to the furniture, decorative pieces and integrated lighting.
Lighting plays an essential role in shaping the atmosphere. Warm and indirect sources accentuate the textures and volumes of the interior, creating different layers of light and reinforcing the feeling of refuge that defines the project.
As an ephemeral installation, Oasis Huëst also required a design capable of creating a strong visual identity within the temporary context of Marbella Design & Art. The intervention therefore focused on a limited number of expressive architectural gestures and carefully selected materials capable of transforming the space without relying on excessive decoration.
Oasis Huëst ultimately proposes a contemporary interpretation of luxury based on wellbeing, materiality and connection with nature. Rather than defining luxury through excess, the project understands it as the possibility of slowing down and experiencing a space through its textures, light and atmosphere.
