STATUS
Built
YEAR
2013
SIZE
100,000 sqft - 300,000 sqft
The new 125,000 square foot Academic Center, a renovated building in Greenwich Village for New York University’s School for Continuing Professional Studies (SCPS) consolidates various degree programs, previously scattered throughout the city.

The building’s new clear glass curtain wall facade offered the opportunity for the school to connect with the street and the surrounding community. Wallwashing the Venetian plaster yellow core wall at each floor creates a welcoming visibility deep into the building, and low brightness fixtures used at the perimeter tempers the building glow. The result is a facility that is active and vital, yet respectful of its residential surroundings.
