On the shores of Lake Geneva in Nyon, part of the grounds of an adjoining manor house has been subdivided to create a new plot and allow for thoughtful densification. In collaboration with the Lacroix Chessex architecture studio, the site’s exceptional landscaping—with its majestic trees and sweeping lake views—guided the master-plan design. Three buildings have been carefully integrated into this setting, flowing elegantly between the existing trees and open spaces. Their bold geometries maximise openness to the landscape and frame vistas of the lake. Altogether, the project provides 49 new owner-occupied condominium apartments (PPE).
The two buildings at the northern edge of the site rise three storeys above ground atop a basement level. Three trapezoidal stair cores—shaped by the project’s morphological choices—serve between two and five apartments per floor. Apartment layouts vary with their position, from single-aspect units to through-units. All living areas enjoy dual exposure toward the lake, while the bedrooms benefit from the gentle northern light. Concrete slabs wrap around the volumes to form generous balcony-terraces, extending the private living spaces outdoors. Exposed concrete in the stairwells and on the balcony-walkways, together with a system of inclined columns, lays bare the structure and emphasises the façades’ horizontal rhythm.
