NIDO is an immersive experience in the Mayan jungle of Tulum, where architecture draws inspiration from the natural intelligence of birds.
NIDO is an architecture and landscape project conceived as a sensitive immersion into the Mayan jungle of Tulum. Inspired by the natural intelligence of birds when building their nests, the project proposes an organic, lightweight, and protective architecture that intertwines with the environment like a branch among the vegetation.
The design emerges from a poetic reinterpretation of natural elements: the main walkway unfolds like a living branch weaving through the landscape, connecting amenities through vegetated clearings that evoke the spontaneous growth of lichen. The playground takes shape from the marks left by the woodpecker on the wood, translating that gesture into a three-dimensional, playful, and tactile language.
The Club House, the heart of the project, reimagines the notion of shelter through local materials and flexible forms that embrace the geometry of a nest. Overlapping branches, inclined planes, and warm atmospheres define an enveloping space that aims to blur the boundaries between built form and nature.
NIDO is not just a place; it is an experience that invites reconnection with the landscape through calm, intimacy, and a deep sense of belonging.
