Nasmah Café is a 3,600-square-foot F&B destination in Al Khawaneej, designed as an immersive retreat from the fast pace of Dubai. Developed around a Modern Arabian Boho aesthetic, the space strikes a seamless balance between the laid-back warmth of bohemian design and the refined elegance of modern Arabic luxury.
Rather than feeling like a standard commercial coffee shop, Nasmah Café offers a soulful, experience-led sanctuary where guests are invited to slow down, connect, and linger.
The Design Challenge & Solution
The F&B Dilemma in Dubai: Most commercial cafes in Dubai lean either toward ultra-polished, rigid luxury or overly casual minimalism. High-end spaces often risk feeling sterile, while bohemian concepts can lack the polish expected by local clientele.
The Solution: Nasmah Café bridges this gap by layering tactile natural textures, warm organic tones, and soft ambient lighting over a structural foundation of modern Arabic craftsmanship. The design fosters quiet indulgence while grounding the atmosphere in authentic regional hospitality.
Rapid Execution: Designed in just 1.5 weeks and fully executed within 12 weeks, the project proves that high-concept commercial spaces can be brought to life swiftly without sacrificing architectural depth or finish quality.
Key Design Features
Layered Materiality: A rich interplay of raw wood, textured plaster, warm linens, and polished metallic accents that feel elevated yet inviting.
Ambient Lighting Scheme: Strategic, warm-toned lighting design crafted to shift the mood seamlessly from day to night, reinforcing an "out-of-the-city" sanctuary feel.
Spatial Rhythm & Flow: Thoughtfully organized seating zones that accommodate both intimate conversations and larger social gatherings across the 3,600 sq. ft. floor plan.
