Nowadays, more and more people in metropolis prefer living
solitary rather than with their families. The concept of “home” is gradually becoming independent from the concept of “family” and becoming more related with public space. In consequence, commercial space will gradually become the other home of urban citizens. Trying to become a breakthrough of traditional retail space arrangement, this design combines the function of beauty, leisure and communication to meet the need of above-mentioned modern lifestyle.
As for the building style, this project aimed to design a home-like salon, as well as an epitome of modern urban life. Every components of home must be depicted. The warm atmosphere of home should be created.
As for layout, more circle elements are used to meet the concept. A continuous open space is created as a holistic area when particular functional spaces are retained. In result, there are more chances for communication. The whole interior space is like the extension of street due to vague boundaries between different spaces.
As for material, showing the substance of natural materials is a focus of this design. The use of artificial possessing is minimized. Innovative design thinking is expressed by details when the main space is kept simple.
Being deeply grounded into everyday life in modern urban background, this salon gives people the atmosphere of home and the experience of varied urban life when it is in operation.
