A green bridge
At the southern entrance to Barbian/Barbiano, a green wooden building makes a striking statement. The ensemble, which meets the Gold Climate House standard, combines a kindergarten, daycare centre, children’s restaurant and tourist office. Two structures: one for educational rooms with a roof play area, the other a tourist office with a lift tower and staircase – are connected by a bridge that spans the road. On the outside, green-glazed wooden façades make the building visible from afar, while inside, natural illumination, light-coloured materials and the consistent use of wood create a calm, child-friendly atmosphere. Open learning landscapes with niches and meeting islands create places for play, encounters and retreat. A green bridge between education, mobility and community.
