Consultant to the Government of Punjab for the conservation of the Jehangir period royal Mughal Serai, one of the finest specimens of a Mughal carvanserai on the old Agra-Lahore highway. The project involved the comprehensive structural conservation, landscape restoration and art conservation in this historic caravanserai, among the rare serais complete with hammam, mosque, wells and wall paintings. Local artisans were trained in medieval Mughal construction techniques of brick vaulting and lime plasters to conserve the 16th century brick cells that had been lost. The entire project was carried out with local craftsmen and became a foundational project to train them in conservation
