The base is surrounded by mountains and lakes, so how to provide a container for viewing the beautiful scenery became the inspiration for this case; the image of the Mountain Sea Wind Pavilion is a frozen fragment of waves blown by the wind, and the view from the inside of the building looking out is a cropped landscape, which is a container for viewing the scenery, a continuous space that gives shelter to people's bodies, spirits, and sights.
Rather than creating an iconic building, we are more concerned with creating a place that blends in with nature; this is different from traditional service buildings in that we provide an open space where leisure or commercial activities can occur naturally, with kiosks, beverage counters, restrooms, resting steps, and a feature-rich viewing space within the building.
Concrete is the main construction material, and in this project we explored the softness of concrete, as opposed to the hard, cold image that concrete materials give people every day.
The building adopts concrete shell structure; the thickness of the shell is 200mm, and the gradual thickness of 200~500mm is adopted locally. Irregular curved surface structure, different from the regular shell structure, between flat plate and arch shell; the area connected with the foundation is three corners + one side side middle area; three tree-like steel columns are added in the area of overhanging and spanning height comparatively large, which adds a second line of defense for the stability of the overall structure.
The design is based on the environment and makes full use of natural resources to create a container for the view. The Mountain, Sea and Wind Pavilion integrates natural elements such as "mountain, sea, and wind" into the architectural design, and the building itself has become a humanistic landscape with beautiful curves.
