Ce projet de rénovation, d'agrandissement et de réaménagement consiste à conserver un bâtiment patrimonial existant de 950m² érigé en 1865 et d'y ajouter 3410m² supplémentaires pour un total de 4360m². L'agrandissement comprend 3 nouvelles salles d'audience ainsi que de nouveaux espaces pour l'aménagement de tous les services et bureaux essentiels au bon fonctionnement d'un palais de justice du 21ième siècle. D'une architecture contemporaine sobre, l'agrandissement est conçu pour mettre en valeur l'aspect patrimonial du Palais. Le nouveau Palais sera le seul à offrir l'ensemble des services du district judiciaire de Montmagny. Pour répondre à des critères de fonctionnement complexe, un processus de design intégré a été mis sur pied afin d'assurer l’implication du client et de tous les professionnels tout au long du développement du projet.
La conception du bâtiment tient compte des critères écologiques élevés d’une certification LEED-NC de niveau Or. Les professionnels accrédités LEED ont assuré l’intégration de stratégies durables dites “low tech” pour respecter le budget. Ceux-ci ont guidé les concepteurs lors de la conception du palais et accompagné le client dans l’application des exigences LEED-NC dans l’édifice.
This project consist to maintain the 950m² of the 1865 historical building and add an expansion of 3410m² for a project area of 4360m². The expansion includes three new courtrooms and new spaces for the development of all essential services and offices for the proper functioning of a courthouse in the 21st century. In a sober contemporary architecture, the expansion is designed to showcase the historical aspect of the existing building. The new courthouse will be the only one to offer all the services of the judicial district of Montmagny. To respond to complex operating criteria, an integrated design process was established to ensure the involvement of the client and all the professionals throughout the project development.
The design of the building reflects the high ecological criteria for LEED-NC Gold certification. The LEED accredited professionals have ensured the integration of low tech sustainable strategies to meet the budget. They have guided the designers in the design of the courthouse and accompanied the client in the application of LEED-NC requirements in the building.
