Concept and design of a “Modus In Rebus” project – in Marbella Design and Art 2022
Modus In Rebus (there is a measure for everything), is a project that intends to honor the great Italian architect of the 20th century, Carlo Scarpa, a reflection on his philosophy, where the sense of space leads to stability, in a coherent dialogue with the sum of the component parts.
In the development of the project, we wanted to underline this stability, this "measure", emphasizing a series of inspiring signs to some of his most impressive works, such as the Brion Tomb, the Canovian Gipsoteca and the Castelvecchio Museum.
Thanks to the works of the artist Eva Bekier, and to the paintings and sculptures of various Ukrainian artists from the Cipressi gallery in Marbella, a custom installation has been created: a space that becomes a private club, where art is the board , reason for dialogue, reflections.
As in Japanese architecture, from which Scarpa brilliantly knew how to manage his identity, here there is not a single point of view where the value and measure of things can be perceived: then the space lives from two opposing points of view, one by one. each side of the course.
The conceptual part is born around art: a corridor, which is multiplied by a long wall in the middle, leads to a red-tinted environment located at the end of the room, behind a large circular opening. The chosen works, all from the Cipressi gallery, are a tribute to femininity, in all its thousand faces and its perceptions: from sensuality through the intellectual woman to the freedom that society wants to hide.
It is there where the club lives; where reflections become words, studies and coexistence, where the measure of everything takes its place.
