Located in the commercial hub of New Friends Colony Market at New Delhi, the brief for the workspace for Modi Enterprises demanded a quirky 'home office’ feel, this was brought alive by selective use of accent pieces of furniture, artworks on the walls, lighting elements and use of graphics in a very structured layout. Bold use of colour and varying scale of graphic treatments on the ceilings, walls, furniture and floors stitched together everything with a continuity of printed geometric patterns, extending all the way; to even small details such as file-folders.
Spatial interventions such as removal of existing concrete staircase between two floors of the building and creating an atrium allowed for a strong connection across the floors and provides a double height volume in the arrival lobby. A much lighter sculptural metal staircase is inserted with a vibrant dash of colour and a skylight opens up the space and brings day-light right into the heart of the workspace. The enclosed cabins and workspaces are laid out on the inner edge and common workspaces on the facade edge overlooking the large neighboring trees making ample daylight & freshness available for everyone.
