LDP fully renovated this single-family 1935 Mediterranean-style residence in San Francisco, updating nearly all interior spaces. The design intent was to modernize the home while respecting the existing character. Additional square footage was created from 3100 SF to 4100 SF by repurposing uninhabitable spaces and excavating under a portion of the original structure. The kitchen received marble countertops and new appliances, and the master bath received white princess granite countertops and wall material. The original architectural elements of the high ceiling and arched alcoves were preserved in the formal living room, in addition to the original hardwood flooring, and a modern linear dual-sided gas fireplace between the living room and dining room replaced the more traditional fireplace. Other updated spaces include the study, guest bathroom, and multiple bedrooms. The home remodel is complemented by fully updated exterior landscaping.
