The Alps often block. Under the blanket of snow, the relentless rock hardness defies architecture: time is not taken, it is eternity that opposes the fragility of human settlements. And yet contemporary architecture has its place in an old mountain hamlet. This is amply demonstrated by the Mineral Lodge in Savoy at 1200 m altitude.The site offers excellent views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, the project uses, says perhaps this fascinating landscape. Here it is build with tact.In a majestic natural theater building is an act that must interact with the geology, its history frozen in the presence of mineral immemorial movements.Rock fixed time. The Mineral Lodge , hut of stone and rock, is a non-standard cottage compared to current production as compared to the segment of luxury chalet, which thrives in the Alps. In the French Alps, a traditional expression architecture has become a marketing slogan devoid of any meaning or interest. The Mineral Lodge is a rare attempt to contradict this nostalgic favorite at work everywhere in Savoy.
