An
existing 9,680 sq ft building, reportedly built in 1961 but considerably
remodeled in 2004, is to be converted and expanded by about 3,300 sq ft for the
use of the Mexican Consulate, with a total of almost 13,000 sq ft. They will be moving into this new larger facility
because their present facility is too small for current operations.
The
proposed Concept Design creates the public area on the first floor in the new
expanded area with offices and restrooms to which the public needs access. A private area at this level also includes
the Consult himself as well as his deputy and archive storage. The second floor is limited to the consulate
staff. A private elevator is added to
serve the second level.
The
exterior includes a new parking area as well as benches and tables for visitors
to wait outside of the building.
