A&M Architects has been commissioned to design the new office spaces for Mercuria, Minerva, and MM Marine, occupying the first and second floors of the recently renovated SOROU 18 office building in Marousi, Athens. The redesign of the 2,000-square-meter workspace aligns with BREEAM sustainability standards, ensuring both environmental responsibility and workplace efficiency.
The architectural approach prioritizes flexibility, with an open-plan layout that integrates private and collaborative meeting spaces, as well as designated phone booths for focused work. A key design element, the reception area, draws inspiration from the geometric forms of ships, a nod to the companies' maritime heritage. The material and color palette introduces a calming blend of deep blue, terracotta, and wood tones, creating a balanced atmosphere of professionalism and warmth.
Further reinforcing the connection to the maritime sector, graphic applications within the space depict the interplay of light and water reflections, evoking the fluidity and movement of the sea. This visual narrative enriches the spatial experience while subtly embedding the companies’ identity into the architecture.
By blending contemporary office design with maritime aesthetics, A&M Architects delivers a dynamic and immersive workspace that fosters both productivity and brand storytelling, setting a new standard for corporate interiors in Athens.
