This headoffice of India's one of most influential and powerful administration was originally designed by F.W. Stevens and its construction of completed in 1893. In 2007, SPA along with the office of Abha Lambah were selected as the designers to renovate and modernize this building. SPA focused their attention on the Annexe portion of the building, which was constructed much later in the 1960's while ANL focused their attention on the heritage portion of the building. Our 1st goal was to identify all the working departments within the building. An exhaustive survey of over 600 employees took almost 6 months after which each department was strategically located which would improve the working efficiency of the building. The defrag operation of relocating the departments commenced last year when we took up the interior of the top floor of the building for renovation. The work on this top floor is now complete. The most challanging part of this project will be the fact that the entire renovation shall be done around a completely operational building which runs the administration of over 20 million people.
